Privacy Policy

PracticeAway helps traveling masters athletes find clubs and show up ready to train. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and honest rather than dense. If anything here is unclear, email us at privacy@practiceaway.com.

What we collect

There are two kinds of data on PracticeAway, and we treat them differently.

Traveler profile and trip data

When you use the traveler tools — saving clubs, building a trip plan, or completing a verification — you enter information such as your sport preferences, travel dates, and notes about clubs you have trained with. Much of this is stored locally in your own browser so the app works for you. Some of it, such as verifications and feedback you choose to submit about a club, is stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) so that it can improve listings for other travelers. We do not require an account to browse, and we do not sell your personal data.

Club and contact information

Club listings — names, venues, schedules, drop-in policies, and public contact details such as a website, email, or phone number — are aggregated from publicly available sources (club websites, national governing body listings, and similar public pages). We label the confidence and freshness of this information throughout the app because public sources go stale and are sometimes wrong.

How we use it

To show you relevant clubs, schedules, and readiness signals for your trip.
To let you save clubs and build trip plans that persist between visits.
To improve the accuracy of listings using traveler verifications and feedback that people choose to submit.
To understand aggregate, non-identifying usage so we can improve the product.

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects aggregate, privacy-friendly usage metrics and does not build advertising profiles of individuals.

Requesting removal of your information

If you are a club, a coach, or an individual whose contact information appears on PracticeAway and you want it corrected or removed, you can ask us to do that. This applies whether you represent the club or are an individual named in a listing.

Email privacy@practiceaway.com with the club name and the page URL, and tell us what you would like changed or removed. We will action reasonable removal and correction requests promptly. You do not need an account, and there is no charge.

Data storage and retention

Data you enter for your own use is kept in your browser and stays there until you clear it. Verifications, feedback, and club data are stored in our database for as long as they are useful to the service or until removal is requested. We take reasonable steps to protect this data, but no method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

Children

PracticeAway is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
